News Media | Broadcasting | Streaming | Media Operations
AVTN NewsNet247 was envisioned as a global broadcast news network built from the ground up, not a rebrand, a buyout, or a merger — but a complete Tier 1 network designed to operate at scale across 88 countries and regions.
As co-founder and CEO, I led the strategic planning and operational development of the project from the ground up, drawing on a lifetime of experience supplying broadcast and film equipment, providing production and crewing services, and working hands-on across Film and TV production, and News programming. The result was a platform designed to challenge legacy broadcasters with future-ready architecture.
Delivering AVTN NewsNet247 meant overcoming the real-world challenges of launching a global TV and media network from scratch. We had to plan for a seamless blend of traditional broadcasting and next-generation streaming, while meeting the technical, editorial, and regulatory demands of multiple regions. Building credibility in a saturated media landscape required more than a strong concept; it called for detailed infrastructure planning, scalable content strategy, and the operational discipline to support multi-market delivery from day one. Every aspect — from satellite carriage to FAST channel design, before it even had a name, had to be aligned, future-proofed, and execution-ready.
Key aspects from a media and broadcast operations lens included:
Newsroom and playout systems: Full design of technical specs for studio, gallery, ingest, and broadcast transmission, with integrated redundancy and compliance controls.
AVTN NewsNet247 wasn’t just a business plan, it was a broadcast operations blueprint built from 2.7 million data points, dozens of region-specific workflows, and the lived experience of running complex productions at scale.

Broadcasting and streaming at scale demand more than technology — they require strategic clarity, cultural fluency, and operational precision across time zones, regulatory frameworks, and workforce environments. I’ve planned and designed global strategies with region-specific tactics that align local delivery with international ambition.
Network & Channel Design | Infrastructure | Global Delivery
Throughout my career, I’ve been deeply involved in delivering production services, equipment, and personnel for both studio-based programming and outside broadcasts, meeting the complex demands of international broadcasters.
As CEO of AVTN NewsNet247, I led the strategic planning and execution of a global news network with proposed hubs in London, Amsterdam, New York, and Singapore. This included overseeing planning for all aspects of news and factual programming, from short-form bulletins to long-form documentaries, as well as studio builds, location crews, outside broadcasts, and equipment logistics at scale. In order to define a budget, it first had to be planned.
In addition to this hands-on experience, I’ve worked across every layer of broadcast development, from technical design to compliance and delivery, including Tier 1 infrastructure planning for multi-region playout, and the integration of both legacy and IP-native systems.
Key areas include:
Defining: multi-platform network architecture for live and recorded transmission.
Embedding: compliance, redundancy, and disaster recovery protocols into technical specifications.
Managing: relationships with regulators, frequency planners, and carrier partners.
Signal Flow | Licensing | Multi-Region Access
I’ve planned the systems required for global broadcast distribution — including transponder allocation, uplinks, and affiliate carriage across major platforms. For AVTN NewsNet247, this involved direct coordination with leading satellite providers and distribution platforms to establish global reach via 28 satellites, covering both C-band and Ku-band frequencies for UHD, HD, and SD delivery.
Alongside full-time channel distribution, I’ve worked on temporary and event-based links between locations and studios, land-links to satellite stations, and mobile uplink deployments for both studio and field operations.
Key Areas include:
Cable: partnerships and feed alignment for linear channels.
Future-Ready Delivery | AVOD/SVOD | Viewer-Centric Strategy
Familiar with a wide range of IPTV, OTT, and streaming service providers, platforms, and support companies, including their technical specifications, licensing models, and practical applications. I developed the full specification and budget for IPTV, OTT, and streaming capabilities for AVTN NewsNet247, liaising directly with key suppliers to ensure both scalability and cost-efficiency.
Key areas include:
Audience experience: Discovery, personalisation, and curated editorial presentation across OTT and streaming environments
Rights | Acquisition | Revenue Models
Understanding your audience — and the markets that serve them — is fundamental to any successful content strategy. Whether working with channels, networks, platforms, or developing content across genres such as feature film, TV drama, documentary, news, or factual, the key questions remain: Who is your audience? What do they care about? And what will they choose to watch next?
At AVTN NewsNet247, we became highly adept at identifying, sizing, and qualifying markets across regions — combining data, audience profiling, and genre modelling to inform both editorial and commercial strategy.
Key areas include:
Market analysis: Demographic profiling, topic relevance, and audience demand forecasting
Content economics: Mapping content strategies to platform models (AVOD, SVOD, FAST, transactional, or FPP)
Monetisation Strategy | Viewer Economics | Platform Architecture
What’s your strategy, and which model is right for your platform or audience? These were the same questions we faced when building AVTN NewsNet247. In fact, our approach anticipated current trends by adopting a tiered model incorporating AVOD, SVOD, and what would later be termed FAST, allowing us to maximise reach and engagement across multiple viewing behaviours and markets.
I bring this experience and strategic viewpoint to every project, helping businesses navigate the economics of modern content delivery and align monetisation with audience needs.
Key areas include:
FAST planning: Channel structuring, genre bundling, EPG strategy, and pacing for lean-back consumption
Global Modelling | Viewer Conversion | Commercial Viability
I led the planning to secure global distribution for AVTN NewsNet247 across up to 126 platforms and 28 satellites, establishing a household reach of 541 million. This figure wasn’t speculative, it was based on confirmed transponder capacity and expected platform carriage, forming the technical foundation for our global delivery strategy.
The challenge wasn’t reach, it was conversion. To maintain credibility and commercial realism, we based our forecasts on typical channel performance averages. A baseline audience conversion rate of 0.8% was used, not as a ceiling, but as a financial floor. From that, we reverse-engineered CPT and CPM models to assess viability across multiple regions and formats.
Key areas include:
User engagement: Strategies for content discovery, personalisation, and behavioural UX.
Channel Operations | Automation | Global Readiness
I maintain strong relationships with key playout and Channel-in-a-Box (CIAB) providers, including Cinegy, PlayBox Neo, and Vizrt, supporting a range of automated and scalable broadcast workflows.
At AVTN NewsNet247, I led the development of a regionally adaptable playout strategy from first principles, aligning vendor selection, technical architecture, and editorial needs to deliver consistent, compliant output across multiple time zones.
Key areas include:
Vendor relationships: Engagements with Cinegy, PlayBox Neo, Vizrt, and related providers
Workflow integration: Ingest, scheduling, graphics, and automation configured for seamless output
Streaming Audio | Network Design | Format Strategy
While often overlooked, IP-based radio and audio services remain a powerful media format — from breaking news and simulcast feeds to smart speaker ecosystems and on-demand voice services. At AVTN NewsNet247, IP Radio was planned as a talk-radio extension of the TV news channel, with four broadcast studios budgeted at £250K each and projected revenues rising from £12M in year one to over £28M by year four. I bring that strategic and operational planning to any project considering radio’s place in a modern media mix.
