Elemack Dolly Resources

Phillip Covell

The following companies are or may be a source of generic parts and replacement solutions to missing or broken parts.

Elemack www.elemack.com E-mail postmaster@elemack.com

Sante Zelli is sadly, no longer with us, and today Elemack is an Engineering company run by his Son Tore. I haven’t heard from Elemack or Tore for some time, and I do not know the status of parts availbility. Send me an email if you have more recent word of Elemack, Tore or the Zelli family.

SKF Bearings www.skf.com

SKF are a manufacturer of bearings, castellated lock nuts and associated spanners and tooling.

Bearing Traders, Uxbridge, UK  www.bearingtraders.com

Bearing Traders are my source for bearings and most importantly Angst & Pfister O-ring and D-Ring seals. The list of seals I have is the original seal list. Some of the numbers have been updated. However, ALL the seals are current, and available in metric sizes as per original specification.

BIL Group www.bilgroup.co.uk

BIL Group have been a source of replacement dolly wheels, though not all. Since I last rebuilt a Spyder they have begun offering re-moulds. Though this service may have minimum volumes, it is potentially a resource for re-moulding Elemack Studio and Track wheels.

I haven’t had cause to re-mould a wheel in over 30 years, however when we did, we used to use Continental Tyres. I do NOT know if they still offer bespoke re-moulding to spec.

BIL Group’s WSRER Cushion Series wheels came out after my last re-build and may be appropriate, perhaps with some tweaking?

Pirtek www.pirtek.co.uk

Pirtek, are an International Company and excellent source for replacement hydraulic hoses, and are able to manufacture them while you wait. My tip is to make the main hydraulic hose longer. Modern hoses are armoured and far more rigid, and the extra length to wind around the column liner is useful. As they say, measure carefully, twice, cut once.

Nuts, Bolts, Helicoils & Fasteners

Apart from the odd hydraulic fixture the nuts bolts and fixtures on an Elemack dollies are all metric. I am aware that they can be difficult to track down in the USA, but beg you to replace them with metric, as it really is an issue when they arrive back into European hands for service. The following companies are tried, trusted and reliable, and I'm sure they would ship.
