As a seasoned entrepreneur, I excel at developing strategic visions, enhancing operational efficiencies, and maximizing business exposure and profitability.

 

My strong business acumen and strategic insight enable me to build and nurture relationships across all levels of an organization, from executive teams to external stakeholders. I have collaborated extensively with production studios, broadcasting corporations, and independent productions, delivering technology, services, and personnel for over 300 scripted and unscripted projects of varying scales.

 

Notably, I co-founded and was a joint recipient of the 2022 International Broadcast Convention Special Award for ‘Support for Ukrainian Media Professionals,’ where I networked over 400 individuals from more than 280 companies and organizations, ensuring Ukrainian TV remained on-air and supporting refugees across Europe.

 

As CEO of AVTN NewsNet247, a £218M global news start-up, I led the creation of a comprehensive business and financial strategy, crafted an innovation-driven technical roadmap, and developed editorial and creative strategies. My leadership extended to securing high-level relationships with government bodies worldwide and presenting to VCs, corporates, TMT, and sovereign wealth funds.

 

At LEQ Ltd, which I founded, I secured global clients such as the BBC, CBS, C4, CNBC, ITN, ITV, NBC, and Sky. My B2B strategies delivered production, equipment, and personnel contracts across a diverse range of projects, including scripted and unscripted TV drama, entertainment, conferences, concerts, and events.

 

My career began at VFG, where I played a key role in its expansion into a multinational PLC with leading production clients. I launched VFG Ireland, the company’s first international operation, and established the successful spin-off, The Lightweight Equipment Co.

 

As the son of industry veteran Tony Covell, my immersion in the Film & TV industry started early, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to excellence and innovation.
