Removing The Wheels

Phillip Covell
  • With assistance, forklift or other safe working method, lift the remaining dolly assembly onto a raised platform so that the centre is supported and the wheels are clear of obstacles underneath.

  • Note: as long as you do not remove/adjust any chains or undo the wheel casting lock nut the dolly will not need to be re-tracked (assuming that it was tracked to begin with).

  • It is best to have the legs in narrow mode as pictured, if you are going to put the dolly on stage boxes to drain the oil next.

  • The wheel assembly is retained in place by a single bolt through the wheel hub at the end of each arm.
  • Support each wheel before loosening.

  • As you undo each bolt support the weight of the wheel until the bolt is completely undone, before completely removing the wheel assembly.

  • The bolt is retained and may be removed by unscrewing it theough the central geared hub.
